Water the Sapling ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
• Learning activity: daily completions, answers, scores, and streaks.
• Payment details: handled entirely by our payment processor, Razorpay. We only store a customer ID and subscription ID — never card numbers, CVV, or bank credentials.
• Technical data: basic logs (IP address, browser type) for security and debugging.

2. How we use your information

• To create and operate your account.
• To deliver the daily concept, questions, and streak tracking.
• To process subscription payments and renewals.
• To send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, payment receipts).
• To improve the product and prevent abuse.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers strictly required to run the product:

• Razorpay — payments and subscription billing.
• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic — AI generation of daily learning content (no personal data is sent).

4. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us; we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep it (e.g. tax records).

5. Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. You can also change your password and cancel your subscription from your Account page.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed. Access to production systems is limited.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children

The service is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app.
